About the Swiss Foundation for Social Tourism
We have been developing projects and building, renovating and managing the properties of the Swiss Youth Hostels for over 50 years. These include historic castles as well as modern wellness hostels. We focus on high-quality architecture and provide affordable accommodation throughout Switzerland with a vibrant building culture. We also achieve this goal in collaboration with partner organisations.
Origin
Our foundation dates back to 1973. It was established with the aim of promoting social tourism and meaningful leisure activities on a non-profit basis. We still achieve this today with the construction of youth hostels.

We perform all tasks relating to Swiss Youth Hostels properties. High standards in design, functionality and sustainability are our guiding principles. This enables us to meet the economic, environmental and social demands of today’s times in equal measure.
